In order to qualify for a Fulbright student grant, applicants must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Hold a B.A. degree or the equivalent at the time of the grant; alternatively, have extensive professional study and/or experience in fields in which they wish to pursue a project
- Have sufficient proficiency in the language of the host country to communicate and carry out the proposed study

The Fulbright Program aims to foster mutual understanding among nations through educational and cultural exchange. Sponsored by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the U.S. Student Program enables Americans to encounter a wide variety of different cultures, while developing international experience and building leadership skills. Each year the Fulbright Program provides funding for approximately 1,000 American students to study or conduct research in more than 140 nations.

The Fulbright Program welcomes applications from recent graduates, 研究生候选人, and developing professionals and artists. Graduating seniors are encouraged to apply, as the Fulbright Program provides significant international experience that can have a major effect on early career development. 申请资料为 网上. New applications for each year’s competition are available by May 1, and must be submitted to IIE by the annual October deadline.
